Cascadia Western Red Cedar Decking
Cascadia decking is produced from the very best kiln dried, select tight knot grade Western Red Cedar, grown in the British Columbia coastal region.
It forms part of the Cascadia range of kiln dried Western Red Cedar decking, cladding and boards. This is produced for Silva by Terminal Forest Products, a Canadian primary sawmill and manufacturer with an unparalleled international reputation for superior Western Red Cedar products.
Only the highest quality wood fibre is used in the production of Cascadia decking, so you can be assured that you are buying a consistently high grade select tight knot Western Red Cedar decking product. It is sustainably sourced from well managed forests and supplied with full PEFC chain of custody certification.
Cascadia Decking is Thick
At 40mm, Cascadia is probably the thickest decking available in the UK. The extra thickness provides a number of advantages:
Fewer joists - joists can be spaced at 600mm centres rather than the usual 400mm, resulting in using fewer joists to construct the frame - saving both time and money.
Fewer screws - fewer joists means far fewer screws to insert, again saving time and money.
Solid structure - the added thickness will make your deck feel satisfyingly solid and sturdy underfoot.
Cascadia decking exhibits very little wane or other defects on the reverse of the boards making it suitable for many landscaping and building uses other than just decking. It can be used for constructing garden features such as gazebos, pergolas, play equipment etc.
Cascadia Western Red Cedar is kiln dried to a moisture content of 16-18% (+/-2%), the optimal moisture content for external decking in the UK. Among its many benefits over air drying, the kiln drying process enables the boards to dry uniformly to achieve optimum dimensional stability. It also enables immediate application of coatings and minimises site acclimatisation. Read more about the benefits of kiln dried timber.

Architect Knotty Grade
Cascadia is consistent, well manufactured Western Red Cedar decking that offers good quality and an attractive appearance at a reasonable price. It is made in Canada by a Western Red Cedar Lumber Assocation (WRCLA) member mill and exceeds the 'Architect Knotty' grading standards set by WRCLA.
The main feature of this product is the inclusion of well interspersed sound tight (live) knots. Occasional small 'not firmly fixed knots' are also permitted, however they are very few in number and will not detract from the overall appearance. A small percentage of boards will exhibit some wane on the reverse, however this will not be visible once the boards are installed.
Western Red Cedar - the Ultimate Outdoor Wood
Western Red Cedar is synonymous with beauty and durability; however it has a number of natural attributes that make it the ultimate outdoor wood.
• Naturally durable species
• Durability Class 2 (BS EN 350:2)
• Proven life expectancy of 60+ years
• Twice the stability of most commonly available wood species
• Does not excessively shrink, swell or warp through changes in moisture or temperature
• Lies flat, stays straight and holds fasteners tightly
• Produces long, lightweight lengths
• Fine grain and uniform texture make it easy to cut, drill, sand, saw and insert screws and nails using common tools
• Readily accepts many types of wood finish due to its lack of pitch and resin
• Natural resistance to moisture, decay and insect damage
• One of the world’s most durable wood species
• Lasts for decades, even in harsh environments

Our economy delivery service uses our own delivery vehicles and is available in selected postcode areas only. Orders are grouped with others within specific regions and scheduled accordingly. This allows us to provide a significantly lower delivery rate. We endeavour to despatch your order as quickly as possible, however the date can vary depending on other orders in your area, up to a maximum of 14 days. Feel free to contact our customer support team on T: 0151 541 5485 for an estimated delivery date prior to ordering.
If you require your order urgently we are able to deliver via an independent haulier within 5-7 working days (factory coated orders may take a little longer). Once your order has been placed online, a member of our customer support team will contact you by phone to arrange a convenient delivery day and discuss your requirements. Deliveries usually take place between Monday & Friday between 8am and 6pm.
Deliveries to Northern Ireland, Orkney Islands, Argyll & Bute, Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man and Shetland Islands use our specialist delivery service. Delivery charges are calculated by the number of pallet spaces taken up by the load.
A pallet space is 1.22 metres or part thereof. The number of pallet spaces taken is determined by the longest item on the order. For example, if you order 2.44 metre long deck boards you will be charged for 2 pallet spaces.
Deliveries using this service usually take place 3 - 5 days after we receive your order (factory coated orders may take a little longer). We will contact you by phone to arrange a convenient delivery day. Deliveries usually take place Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm.
A Saturday delivery service is available on request and subject to availability (additional charges will apply). Please contact our customer support team on T: 0151 541 5485 for a quote.
Smaller items like screws or wood finish are delivered using a reliable express parcel service. Our standard leadtime for this service is 2-3 days. Next working day delivery is also available on smaller items ordered before 11am.
Although rare, an additional charge may be payable should the delivery company require to attempt more than two deliveries of the same order.
Deliveries are often made on large vehicles. Please let us know in advance if there are any access restrictions; for example narrow streets / farm tracks, parking restrictions, road works etc which may affect delivery. Failure to notify us, in advance, of any access restrictions may result in additional delivery charges and / or an inability to fulfil the delivery.
To keep delivery charges to a minimum, goods are manually offloaded from the delivery vehicle. Someone must be on-site to sign for the delivery and to assist with the offload. If your order contains large lengths of timber you may need additional people on hand to help. As with most companies delivering building materials, delivery obligation ends at the kerbside.
If you would prefer to arrange your own haulage or collect in person please let us know. Collection is from either our Widnes (Cheshire) or Harmondsworth (W. London) branch. We can schedule in your collection so that your goods are picked and packed in advance and our warehouse team can assist in loading your vehicle promptly.
As orders may need to be processed, picked and packed from multiple locations we are unfortunately unable to offer a 'Click & Collect' service.
Customers will be contacted to arrange a convenient date and time for collection.
What time will my delivery arrive?
We appreciate that you may be taking time off work so we suggest that you request a call either on the morning of the agreed delivery date or one hour before delivery - whatever suits. Just enter your request in the 'Special Instructions' box on the order page.
