Western Red Cedar
Western Red Cedar is a softwood species that is grown in British Columbia, Western Canada. This species has a diverse range of colour tones that can vary from pale browns to rich chocolate browns, adding a unique element to any design.
Western Red Cedar is shade tolerant and grows best in humid conditions, making its growth rate steady in changing conditions. As this species copes well in moisture rich environments it has exceptional dimensional stability, which means the timber is much less likely to twist or warp.
This species is incredibly easy to work with, as it is lightweight and easy to cut on site. Often the main talking point about this timber is the rich aroma it produces, making it a firm favourite in timber materials.
All of our Western Red Cedar is sustainably sourced from well-managed forests and carries the PEFC certification.
